Sunday 23 August, 2026 BEMBOKA
Meet at 9:15 am at the Bemboka Recreation Ground (Colombo Park) on the right below the highway just before entering the township from the coast. After checking this site we will move on to part of Bird Route No 2 looking at roadside stops along the way until we reach the property of Noel Whittem where we have had success on several visits. Bring a chair and lunch.

Wednesday September 2, 2026 MALLACOOTA (and overnight by choice)
Meet at 9:15 am in the Genoa Picnic Area on Princes Highway just before crossing the large bridge to Genoa. Allow 45 minutes from Eden. After checking this area the group will proceed to Mallacoota with the STW lined up, then Betka Walk and other spots familiar to David. Several members plan to stay overnight with more walks on Thursday. Why not join them? Phone David with questions if needed.

Saturday September 12, 2026 UMBI GUMBI at CUTTAGEE
Meet at 9:15 am at the south end of Cuttagee Beach. Follow the Tathra-Bermagui Rd passing through Barraga Bay until you see the long sandy Cuttagee Beach. Pull over (carefully) to the right and assemble for directions to Umbi Gumbi, a private property a few minutes further on. Bring provisions as usual.

Monday September 21, 2026 COMMITTEE MEETING (3rd Monday)
9:15 am for 9:30 am in the Panboola Centre, next to Idlewilde Motel.
Sunday September 27, 2026 NUMBUGGA circuit
Meet at 9:00 am on the corner of Snowy Mountains Highway and Wents Road. From Bega go north on the Princes Highway and take the Cooma turn off, drive 15 km west to reach Wents Road on your right. If coming from Bemboka it is 5 km east of Morans Crossing on your left. We will visit sites along Numbugga Creek and return to Bega via Walls Flat Road. Always a super bird list from this morning. Bring a chair.
Thursday October 8, 2026 EVENING MEETING
Meet for a 7:30 pm start in the Uniting Church Hall, Henwood St, Merimbula. Guest Speaker will be Matthew (Matt) Herring of Australasian Bittern fame. Matt will talk about tracking to inform targeted wetland management and conservation of the Australasian Painted-snipe and Australasian Bittern
Saturday October 10, 2026 ‘WATERY FOWLS’ in Spring
Meet at 8:45 am inside the gate of ‘Watery Fowls’. Turn off Sapphire Coast Drive onto Bournda Road, as if going toH obart Beach or Bournda Lagoon, on the south side of Wallagoot Lake. Drive about 500m to just before Tickalara Close and turn left into the almost hidden driveway to the home of Cliff and Sayaka Wallis. This is an additional visit to find the spring birds.
