Meet at Panboola Centre, Watson Waterhole, next to Idlewilde Motel in Bullara St, Pambula at 7:30 am for the summer survey. Wear sturdy shoes. Bring hat, drink and insect repellent. Takes about 3 hours.

Sunday January 28, 2018 START UP THE YEAR at MANDENI
Walk and Picnic Tea. Birdwatchers and walkers meet at the Mandeni Golf Centre at 4:00 pm for a walk. Non-walkers please arrive around 5:00 pm to share a BYO BBQ or picnic tea as a get-together after the holiday season. New members especially welcome.

Thursday February 8, 2018 EVENING MEETING
Meet in the Uniting Church Hall, Henwood St, Merimbula, for a 7:30 pm start. As well as the regular features of these meetings our Guest Speaker will be Dean Ansell, Snr Project Officer, Saving our Species, South Coast Branch, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service whose topic will be ‘Getting more bird for buck’ – comparing costs and the conservation benefits of two common approaches to restoring bird communities in farmland: fencing woodland remnants and revegetation.
Saturday February 10, 2018 GOODENIA RAINFOREST WALK
If travelling from the coast assemble behind the Tea Tree Café, Lochiel at 8:30 am so we can reduce the car numbers. Otherwise proceed independently to Goodenia Rainforest carpark by 9:15 am. Chalkhills Rd, Lochiel leaves the Mt Darragh Rd 10 km from Sth Pambula. Turn here and travel carefully, can be rough, for about 8 km. The rainforest is often slippery after rain, but there are good areas to explore without going down into the depths. And it should be cooler than the coast. Lunch there, with tables and BBQ available.

Sunday February 25, 2018 BERMAGUI
Meet at 9:15 am in Bermagui on the north side of the big bridge across the Bermagui River (near the little group of shops). We will be exploring at least four sites keeping close to the coast. Bring lunch and chair.
Saturday March 10, 2018 EDEN BUSH and COCORA WETLAND
Meet at 9:15 am at the car park near toilet block on the Princes Highway opposite Eden Gateway Caravan Park (formerly Fountain Garden Caravan Park) Eden. A quick check of Lake Curalo from two spots then bush birds behind the Eden Country Club and on to Cocora Beach to walk around the wetland and lunch. Easy walking.
Wednesday March 14, 2018 KAMERUKA (mid-week walk)
Meet at 8:45 am at the entry to Kameruka Golf Club, Candelo. From here we’ll be exploring several parts of Kameruka Estate. Bring chair and food needs for lunch at the Kameruka Cricket Oval. Leaving Candelo travel about 4 km north and turn left onto West Kameruka Rd. From Bega, 500 m beyond the Kameruka main entrance on Bega-Candelo Rd, turn right onto West Kameruka Rd. The golf course is just after you turn.
Sunday March 25, 2018 SCOTTS BAY, WALLAGOOT LAKE
Meet at 8:30 am at Scotts Bay, on the south side of Wallagoot Lake, Bournda NP. (Park fees apply unless you have a ticket). A look at an area you might not have seen and a walk to Hobart Beach area led by Di Waldon for a variety of birds. Bring lunch and chair.

A local showcase of skills and interests of the Tarraganda Community in their hall. We will mount a display at the invitation of their president Tony Jarman.

Meet in the Uniting Church Hall, Henwood St, Merimbula for a 7:30 pm start. We’ll be going ‘Home and Away with our Shorebirds’ presented by Leo Berzins.
Saturday April 14, 2018 WALLAGOOT, ‘WATERY FOWLS’
Meet at 8:45 am inside the gate of ‘Watery Fowls’. Turn off Sapphire Coast Drive on to Bournda Road, as if going to Bournda Lagoon on the south side of Wallagoot Lake. Drive about 500m to just before Tickalara Close and turn left into the almost hidden driveway to the home of Cliff and Sayaka Wallis. BYO snack and lunch and chair as usual. Always a good species count here. Flat walking. (Fixed 2nd Sat in April event.)
