Wednesday 21 January, 2026 PANBOOLA SURVEY
Meet at 7:00 am at the Panboola Centre, next to Idlewilde Motel in Bullara St, Pambula for the summer survey. Wear sturdy shoes. Carry snack and drink, hat and insect repellent. Takes about 3 hours.

Sunday 25 January, 2026 FIRST EVENT FOR 2026
A late afternoon get-together to meet fellow members and start the year. Come to the Panboola Centre area, beside the Waterhole, under the trees, between 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm with your picnic tea and a chair (although there are tables and seats there). A walk at 4:00 pm is optional, however this is a good chance to meet and chat with fellow members. Please try to come. Cricket and tennis addicts can leave in time for final games on TV.
Thursday 12 February, 2026 EVENING MEETING
Meet for a 7:30 pm start in the Uniting Church Hall, Henwood St, Merimbula. Here is your chance to have a question answered with a Q and A session with STEVE SASS. Yes, ask him anything that has puzzled you and probably others too. I doubt we can stump him so jot your question down and take your turn. Be prepared to join in.
Saturday 14 February, 2026 SIX MILE CREEK, TANTAWANGALO
Meet at 9:00 am in Candelo Park opposite the shops. Destination from there is via Tantawangalo Mountain Rd and en route we will check the big dam at Willowdene and the Tantawangalo River Reserve then proceed to Six Mile Creek Picnic Area with forest and river walking tracks. Bring lunch and a chair.

Sunday 22 February, 2026 BITHRY INLET and MYER BLOCK, MIMOSA ROCKS NP
Meet at 9:00 am on the north side of the Mogareeka Bridge for the usual Nankeen Night-Heron hunt. Will the Great Crested Grebes still be there? From here we will proceed on the main Tathra-Bermagui Rd to the Bithry Inlet turnoff. (Meet there if you are coming from the north.) Bush birds, seabirds and a lovely Headland walk.

Saturday 14 March, 2026 BERMAGUI STATE FOREST
Meet at 9:00 am on the north side of the Big Bridge and opposite the small shopping centre at the bottom of the school playground. Leo will plan the day to take in the Lilli Pilli Rainforest walk in the State Forest and probably a venue near water then back to town for lunch and time to look at Sculptures by the Sea. Held on the Headland and also in the Surf Club the exhibits are of a very high standard and can be purchased too!

Meet at 9:15 am for a 9:30 am start in the Panboola Centre, next to Idlewilde Motel, Bullara St, Pambula.
Sunday 22 March, 2026 GREEN CAPE
Meet at 9:00 am on the corner of Princes Highway and Edrom Rd (Chipmill Rd), 15 minutes south of Eden. We’ll take in Bull Creek, Pulpit Rock and highlights around Green Cape. Bring chair, lunch etc, no shops anywhere!

Saturday 11 April, 2026 WALLAGOOT ‘WATERY FOWLS’
Meet at 8:45 am inside the gate of ‘Watery Fowls’. Turn off Sapphire Coast Drive onto Bournda Road on the south side of Wallagoot Lake. Drive about 500m to just before Tickalara Close and turn left into the driveway to ‘Watery Fowls’. BYO snack and lunch and chair as usual, plus insect repellent. Always a good species count here and easy walking.
